Things are not looking all that rosy for the Congress Party these days. After the Karnataka and Goa defections, there is a strong possibility that such a drama would be repeated in Rajasthan too.In Rajasthan, a fierce one-upmanship battle is on between Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and the deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot.
Pilot, who hoped to become the Chief Minister but had to give in to the pressure tactics of Gehlot, has recently said that the people of Rajasthan have voted for Congress because of any local leader. This is a clear indication that the people did not vote for Gehlot and that he had become chief minister only due to machinations.
In Rajasthan too, the Congress government hangs by a slender thread. The differences between the chief minister and the deputy chief minister are proving to be too much of a burden for the party.
