Is Vijayawada’s second-time TDP MP Kesineni Nani getting increasingly isolated in his own party? The indications are – yes indeed. Nani is getting isolated by each passing day. Due to his attacks on party leaders and toeing a line that is different from the party, more and more leaders are moving away from him.
His rejection of the Whip post offered by the party leadership and his hobnobbing with BJP leaders Nitin Gadkari and vice-president M Venkaiah Naidu have raised quite a few eyebrows. To add to that, he has made openly derogatory comments on senior leaders Devineni Uma and Buddha Venkanna. Interestingly, on the issue of scrapping the article 370 and 35 A, his stand was different from that of the party.
While the party has backed the move, Nani opposed it. Due to these actions, the TDP activists are wary of being seen with him. His once-friendly Buddha Venkanna and Urban TDP secretary Pattabhi are now keeping a distance from him. Pattabhi said that he valued the principle of the party more than his friendship with Nani.
