With Dasara season coming and crazy films lined up every weekend, box-office is waiting for its cash registers to get rung as September had not one film that was successful.
Films like ‘C/o Kancherapalem’ and ‘Manu’ which were released in the first week of September failed at the box-office despite their critical appreciation. Sunil and Naresh’s ‘Silly Fellows’ which released in the same week failed on both the fronts.
Romantic couple Naga Chaitanya and Samantha competed at the box-office on the second week with ‘Shailaja Reddy Alludu’ and ‘U Turn’ respectively. But none of the film entered the safe zone and ended up with losses. Next week had releases like Sudheer Babu’s ‘Nannu Dochukunduvate’ and Vikram’s ‘Saamy’. Though Sudheer’s film got positive talk, it failed to turn them into collections. ‘Saamy’ ended up as a disaster.
The last of September had crazy films like ‘Devadas’ and ‘Nawab’. Despite the combination of Nag and Nani, the film gained average talk and may end up too as an average. Though Mani Ratnam’s ‘Nawab’ gained good talk, the film’s theme and treatment doesn’t have the universal appeal.
Hope October releases like ‘NOTA’, ‘Aravinda Sametha’, ‘Hello Guru Premakosameroyi’, ‘Pandem Kodi 2’ and others bring back life to box-office.
