Things don’t seem to be going Chandrababu Naidu’s way anymore. His MLAs are deserting the sinking ship very fast. Already several MLAs are looking towards the BJP. Some are even trying to join the YSRCP. Meanwhile, senior MLA Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary has dropped a bomb shell. On Tuesday, he said that the party has been routed in the elections because of the acts of omission and commission by the mandal and grassroot level workers. He said that despite all the welfare measures and the slew of the schemes, the party had lost the election. This is because there were mistakes on the part of the TDP leadership.
He also said that he was ready to resign the post of the deputy leader of the TDP Legislature Party if the party wanted to restructure itself. “Chose a better candidate for the post. I am willing to step down if needed, “ he said. This set up rumours within the party as to whether Butchaiah too was planning to leave the party. The party seems to be facing its worst crisis ever.
More importantly, he made these comments when the party state-level office bearers’ meeting is going on. Some observers feel that he is trying to get back at Chandrababu Naidu, who ignored him all these years.
